Limited Editions

Limited edition - a set of prints taken from the same matrix (printing surface), with no further prints produced once the edition is complete. Each print in the edition is numbered and signed by the artist, typically in pencil at the bottom of the print. These inscriptions, read from left to right, indicate the edition number, artwork title, artist’s name or signature, and sometimes the date.

During the editioning process, printmakers select, number, and sign each print, ensuring that only high-quality prints are included. Once all prints in the edition are completed, the matrix is destroyed to prevent further impressions.

the gallery is pleased to present Limited Editions, an exhibition featuring limited-edition prints by various artists and collaborating printmaking studios. This collection spans diverse printmaking techniques, including screen prints, monotypes, etchings, linocuts, and woodcuts, showcasing the rich possibilities within the medium and highlighting the value of collecting accessible, original works of art.
